From time to time I get requests from people starting out, or who run short of stuff. Often I can help by giving them furniture, quoins, reglet, spacing, and occasionally type, from my stock piles.
If you are in Christchurch, or nearby, and have items you are prepared to donate to a good cause I may be able to make use of them. At the moment I can’t find homes for most presses but there is some demand for small items and supplies.

An “Ideal” make or similar, the smaller model is preferred.

The Franklin Press (wooden common press) will be operating on the 10th of June at the Aotea Centre in Auckland in association with the 14th annual Storylines Festival of New Zealand Children’s Writers and Illustrators.
The Motat Printing Section plans a work day this coming Sunday, 22nd April, from 11 a.m.
You will be able to admire the new Franklin Press (an exact replica of the press used by Ben Franklin, painstakingly constructed by Captain Frank Brough, and just moved on site this week!), set type, print pages, or help tidy the place up and catalogue what is there.
A full size working replica Common Press (as used by Benjamin Franklin) was delivered today to MOTAT.

The Ferrymead Printing Society AGM is to be held on Saturday the 28th of April at 2.00pm.
Location – Moorhouse Railway Station at Ferrymead Heritage Park.
